Matthew Maldonado is a mixed martial arts (MMA) competitor who has achieved success on the international stage and is planning the opening of a New York gym. Over the past seven years, he has built up a stable of Muay Thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) clients who have achieved success in professional and amateur circuits. Also working with people in the sports and entertainment sphere, Matthew Maldonado provides freelance coaching that combines high-intensity workouts with MMA moves and techniques.
Mr. Maldonado’s resume of professional achievements includes earning Cage Wars Bantamweight Champion and Jiu Jitsu World Champion status in 2012. He was crowned Friday Night Fights Muay Thai Bantamweight Champion in 2016 and earned recognition as Rise Bantamweight Champion in 2022. For several years, he engaged as Animals MMA of Yonkers’ head BJJ coach. He also helped launch the Dogpound Gym.
